What if I have never fired a handgun? This is a Basic Pistol course and we encourage new shooters. Starting with the Basics we will walk you through firing your first shots. We will build on your shooting skills and your confidence with a firearm. We keep our classes small, so there is plenty of time for one on one instruction making your shooting experience an enjoyable one.

How do I get my carry concealed license after completing the course? All you need to do is bring your application, basic pistol certificate, photo identification, and photo (provided) to the Sheriff’s Office in the county in which you live or an adjacent county.  They will take your fingerprints, documentation and your fee of $55.00.  Approximately 2 to 3 weeks later they will call you to pick up your license.

What about the Florida C.C.W. permit?  During the course we will complete the Florida and Ohio C.C.W. applications (provided). Your photograph will be taken for you during the course and notary services are provided.  While applying at the Sheriff’s Office for your Ohio license you can have your fingerprints taken for your Florida application.  You can mail your Florida application along with the $117.00 fee they require.

What states recognize Ohio C.C.W. permits? Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

Why should I get a Florida out of state permit? In addition to the 25 states that Ohio’s permit is valid, Florida’s permit is valid in the following 10 states: Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Pennsylvania and Texas.

What type of gun should I qualify with? You should qualify with the same gun that you are going to carry.  If you do not own a gun you may purchase one prior to the course, use one of ours (call first to make arrangements) or wait until the course so we can help you with your handgun selection. One Shot in Newtown and Shooter’s Supply in Loveland have well priced handguns and excellent service as far as helping you purchase the right handgun for your needs. We also recommend Salem Hardware at 6401 Salem Rd. in Anderson Twp. They deal in new gun sales (www.salemhardware.biz).  Call and ask for Steve (513-232-0111), he is very knowledgeable in concealed carry and will be more than happy to help you select a firearm for protection of yourself and/or others.

How many rounds of ammunition will I need to bring? At least 100 rounds of ammunition are needed for the course.  (No reloads).

What should I bring to class? 100 rounds of ammunition, a handgun and a good attitude, we provide the rest.

Where are you located? Anderson Township, Cincinnati, Ohio.
